Rasmus Hojlund has been benefiting from the advice of a title-winning Manchester United striker as his red-hot form continued at the weekend.
Although he netted five times in the Champions League, the £72million summer signing from Atalanta initially struggled to get off the mark for his new club in the Premier League.
He had to wait 15 games and three months to finally open his account for the Red Devils in the league, with the emotion clear to see when he netted the winner in a come-from-behind victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
Since then, Hojlund has scored in five consecutive Premier League matches and was once again on the scoresheet against Villa at the weekend – this time away from home.
In doing so, the 21-year-old became the second-youngest player in the division’s history to net in five straight matches, with former Arsenal frontman Nicolas Anelka the only person younger than him to do so.
Hojlund has been working hard to get up to speed with the Premier League while he also had to shake off a back injury that disturbed him during the first weeks of his time at the club.
He has also benefited from advice and input from a number of coaches and former United players, not least a certain Robin van Persie.

The former Netherlands international, who is 14th on the list of the Premier League’s all-time top scorers with 144 goals, was at Carrington last week to complete part of his UEFA Pro License.
As well as absorbing information from Erik ten Hag and United’s other coaches, The Athletic report that Van Persie also imparted some advice of his own.
During a break from training at Carrington, Van Persie had a ‘long conversation’ with Hojlund and passed on some pearls of wisdom.

Reacting to Hojlund’s upturn in form, Ten Hag said last week: ‘You can see how Hojlund is improving. We trust him.
‘He gets angry, mad when he’s not scoring but also that’s why we selected him. He has the resilience and the calmness, and to perform under that stress.
‘He hasn’t had any moment when he wanted to give up.’
Van Persie, meanwhile, was allowed to observe United’s training sessions last week along with two other Dutch coaches, while he also spoke with Ten Hag, assistant coach Mitchell van der Gaag and football director John Murtough.
