Aston Villa have tied Leon Bailey to a new long-term deal following his sensational form for the club this term.
The winger, a £25m arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, has recorded 19 goal involvements so far this season.
His seven goals and six assists in the Premier League this term is already more than what Bailey managed across his first two seasons at the club.
But Unai Emery has helped Bailey take his game to the next level, and he’s become a regular first-team starter.
There has been interest in Bailey from across Europe, but the main interest came from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s side were willing to pay around £25m for Bailey but the Jamaican was happy to remain at Villa Park.
The deal, which is unspecified, is said to run until 2028.
Bailey joins Ollie Watkins in recently signing a new deal to remain at Villa Park.
Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday was the side’s third home defeat in a row.
Emery’s side remain in fifth, albeit only five points above United.
