Arsenal legend Ian Wright fears the club’s lack of ‘ruthlessness’ in front of goal will cost them in the Champions League.

The Gunners take on Porto in the last-16 of the European Cup, having finished as group winners in the group stages.

Arsenal may have never won the competition, but they’re one of the strongest sides in the competition.

City are the favourites to retain their crown but only two sides in the modern era have managed to win consecutive titles.

But, while Wright feels Arsenal have the quality to go all the way, he feels their lack of clinicial finishing will cost them.

‘I’d love Arsenal to win it,’ said Ian Wright, speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet.

‘If we got there, to the final with City, I’d feel more confident.

‘But we’ve got to be more ruthless with the chances – you’ve got see games off so you can relax in games.

‘At the moment we’re not taking those chances even though in the end we won the game, but if we could take those chances, I’d be more confident about going to play these teams because we’re defending a lot better.’
