Chelsea were humbled by Liverpool (Credits: AP)
Chelsea’s squad is brimming with ‘mid-table’ players and only Christopher Nkunku is cut out to play at the required level.
That’s according to Frank Leboeuf, who is baffled at how the club have spent £1.4bn across the last four transfer windows.
Chelsea were battered 4-1 by Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday, and the Reds hit the woodwork four times.
It was a stark reminder of how far Chelsea have fallen behind their rivals in the Premier League.
The Blues had Nkunku to thank for getting a goal back, with the Frenchman continuing his good form individually.
And Lebouef says the former RB Leipzig man is the only player that has proved he is at the right level for the club, with the rest being ‘mid-table’.

‘When Christopher Nkunku came on, I saw a different player,’ said Lebouef.
‘I saw a player who knows how to play internationally. The others don’t know. The others are mid-table players.”
‘I was insulted by a lady on social media last week because I was harsh on Chelsea. How can you be nice right now?
‘What can you find about my former club to believe in something good? It’s awful, it’s appalling! Everything is wrong! Nothing is good.’
