A fisherman was ripped to the bone and killed by a deadly pack of piranhas.

Odair Raash, 46, went missing after transporting cattle on an amazonian river by Costa Marques Rondonia State, Brazil, on January 1.

Horrified locals found his remains up river but bizarrely his clothes and even his boots remained intact.

A strap of hair and the skin on his hands was all that remained of him after the piranhas devoured his flesh and internal organs.

The bite marks are consistent with a piranha attack but other animals could have feasted on his flesh.

An investigation is now underway.
