This is the harrowing moment 379 passengers were left fearing for their lives as their plane burst into flames.

Footage recorded from inside the Japan Airplanes aircraft showed a fire bubbling in the area around its wing as it crash-landed at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.

In another video, the cabin can be seen filled with grey smoke as people covered their mouths to protect themselves.

‘I thought I was going to die,’ said the passenger who shared the clips on X.

Local media reported that the Japan Airplanes plane crashed with another jet after landing.

NHK TV reported that all passengers aboard were evacuated to safety after the jet burst into flames.

It said the plane was an Airbus A-350, JAL flight 516, which had flown out of Shin Chitose airport in Japan to Haneda.

NHK quoted the airline as saying it believed its plane was hit by another aircraft, possibly a Japan Coast Guard plane.

Japan’s Coast Guard said it is investigating the possibility that its MA-722 aircraft might have collided with the JAL flight on the runway.

Haneda is one of the busiest airports in Japan, and many people travel over the New Year holidays.
