Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has described 2023 as a wonderful year for the game in Nigeria.
In a release which chronicled some of its programmes and activities in 2023, NBBF stated that 2023 gave it a wonderful experience, as it achieved more with the help and support of Nigerians.
NBBF President Ahmadu Musa Kida in the release extended the appreciation of the board to all concerned basketball lovers.
“We thank you all for your support, understanding and helping us with your personal resources to make basketball in Nigeria a wonderful 2023.”
“We thank all stakeholders, the states, private and individual clubs who graced our tournaments and leagues starting from the Total Energies Division 2; Total Energies Division 1; Zenith Bank Women’s League and Nigeria Men’s Basketball Premier League.We also thank all media outlets for their contributions to our projects.”
For the records some of the programmes and activities of the NBBF in 2023, included FIBA Africa U16 Qualifiers in Ghana; FIBA Afrobasket Women in Rwanda, won by D’Tigress; Zenith Women’s Elite League final 4; Olympics Pre-Qualifiers held in Lagos; FIBA AfroCan Qualifiers in Abidjan; China Autumn Tour Basketball Championship; NBBF Men Basketball Premier league final 4, held in Port-Harcourt and the FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup in Egypt, with Nigeria claiming third place.
