Eintracht Frankfurt boss Markus Krosche says he is ‘very confident’ of signing Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek in the January transfer window.
The Dutchman’s time at Old Trafford has been underwhelming to say the least, arriving from Ajax with a glowing reputation but failing to make any kind of impact.
The 26-year-old has made just 62 appearances since his 2020 move, unable to convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Erik ten Hag that he deserves a place in the first team.
Van de Beek has made just one Premier League appearance so far this season, coming off the substitutes’ bench in the home defeat to Crystal Palace in September.
Reports have suggested that a deal to take Van de Beek to Frankfurt is all but complete and Krosche confirmed their intention to sign the Dutchman in a recent interview.
‘I’m very confident that Donny will be with us for the next six months,’ he told Kicker.
‘We still need quality across the board. We need experience; we are a very young team. Donny can certainly help us with that.’

His move to the Bundesliga side could well be confirmed within the next two weeks, with the transfer window set to reopen on January 1, 2024.
The deal looks set to be an initial loan, although Frankfurt can turn the deal into a permanent transfer at any point for a fee of €15million (£12.8m).
Van de Beek has already left United once on loan – spending the second half of the 2021-22 season at Everton – but found limited success, only making seven league appearances.
