Former Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison has urged the club to bring Mason Greenwood back to Old Trafford.

Greenwood joined Getafe side on loan from United in August following an internal club investigation into his conduct.

It came after charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control against the striker were dropped in February following his arrest the previous year.

Since joining Getafe on a season-long loan, Greenwood has been playing consistently after 18 months off the pitch, scoring five times and laying on four assists in his first 15 appearances for the Spanish side.

The 22-year-old turned in another impressive performance against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, helping his side rescue a 3-3 draw.

His performance drew praise from Morrison, who wrote on Twitter in reply to match highlights: ‘What a player. United need to bring him back.’

Morrison emerged from the United academy in 2010, regarded as one of their best youth products in a number of years, winning the FA Cup Youth Cup alongside Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.

He left the club after just three senior appearances, however, joining West Ham United in 2012.

Morrison has since played for 11 different clubs, leaving Derby County to join MLS side DC United last year.
