An urgent search operation has been launched after a two-year-old boy was snatched from his family and bundled into a car.

Jax Wilson was kidnapped in broad daylight in New South Wales, Australia, on Friday.

The toddler was with his family in Coffs Harbour when he was abducted by a man and woman known to him in Little Street, police say.

After he was taken from the family member shortly after 2pm local time, the two suspects then drove off in a black 1996 Volkswagen Sedan.

Officers say it has a Victoria number plate and the registration is OAH 707.

New South Wales Police issued an amber alert and said it is ‘a matter of extreme urgency’.
