Tourists were evacuated after a Christmas market caught fire in Berlin and two people were taken to hospital.
Plumes of smoke were seen rising above the market in the German capital on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services confirmed the two people were rushed to hospital with injuries and electricity was switched off.
The blaze has now been extinguished, according to the fire department.
German outlet Bild reported two small gas cartridges exploded and the fire consumed two market stalls.
A Christmas market visitor also suffered smoke poisoning as an operator attempted to extinguish the fire.

A Berlin fire department spokesperson said: ‘At the Christmas market at the Red Town Hall, two stalls caught fire. “The fire is extinguished. The site is under control.’
Police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
The Christmas market remained closed yesterday evening following the fire and is expected to reopen today.
