With the commencement of action in the Gaza Strip on Friday morning, Israel’s army declared new safe zones for Palestinian residents.
The military issued an interactive map in Arabic featuring evacuation zones “in preparation for the next phase of the war.”
The strip is divided into zones so that residents can “orient themselves, understand the instructions, and move to safety from specific locations if necessary.”
Hours earlier, the army started military operations against Hamas after a week-long ceasefire was not restored for the third time.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel soon before the trice deadline expired.
Israel also charged Hamas with failing to follow the agreement to free the female hostages.
According to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 32 people were killed in the first three hours of the resumption of warfare, when Israeli airplanes bombarded the strip once more.
Hamas accused Israel of rejecting all of its attempts to extend the truce.
