Mr Dauda Biu, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says the organisation has established nine new commands in Kaduna State.
Biu disclosed this on Thursday in Kaduna during the inauguration of the newly built Sector Command’s office.
He said that the inauguration of the edifice marked an important milestone in the Corps’s efforts towards making Nigerian roads among the safest to ply in the world.
Biu said,”It is also of great significance not only in positively positioning the corps to tackle traffic situations in Nigeria for improved road transportation.
“But, also in producing a crop of personnel with high level of professionalism and discipline who will be ready, at all times to sacrifice their comfort to save lives on the roads.”
The Corps Marshal said in the last three decades, FRSC has evolved a wealthy culture of professionalism and excellence in service delivery.
“Which has positioned it as the lead agency in road safety management and traffic administration, with a passionate and enduring commitment to creating a safer motoring environment that is unequaled in the African sub-region.
Biu said that the Corps would continue to strengthen its strategies, programmes, knowledge and processes capable of surmounting all the challenges militating the effective and efficient administration of safety in Nigeria.
According to him, from the second decade of the Corps’s existence, frantic efforts have been put in place to expand both its internal and external horizons with more robust collaborations on all fronts.
This, Biu said, has led to a paradigm shift in road safety administration from the traditional approach to Safe Systems Approach.
