Police in Dublin are dealing with a ‘serious incident’ after several children believed to be around six years old were stabbed near a school in the north inner city earlier today.
Images from the scene on Parnell Square East on the outskirts of the city centre show a frenzied commotion with ambulances and police vehicles.
Five people have been taken to various hospitals in the Dublin region, an Garda Síochána, Ireland’s police force, have said.
Gardaí say the casualties include a man, woman and three young children.
Authorities are trying to establish a motive for the attack but do not suspect terrorist motivation, RTE reports.
