Chelsea’s stance on signing out of favour Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale

Chelsea are yet to add Aaron Ramsdale to a list of potential targets amid the uncertainty surrounding the Arsenal goalkeeper’s future.

The England international has lost his position as the club’s undisputed No.1 this season following the summer arrival of David Raya, initially on loan, from Brentford.

Ramsdale made only his second appearance since being dropped in September in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup defeat at West Ham.

And while he was not the only player to struggle at the London Stadium, he did little to suggest he is capable of winning back his place from the Spaniard imminently.

Ramsdale admitted earlier this month that his lack of first team opportunities would represent a threat to his chances of being selected for the Three Lions ahead of next summer’s European Championships.

Reports earlier this week linked the former Bournemouth shot stopper with a January move to Chelsea where Robert Sanchez has made a mixed start to life at Stamford Bridge.

The ex-Brighton goalkeeper has made a number of high-profile errors since replacing compatriot Kepa Arrizabalaga who is set to sign for Real Mardid on a permanent basis.

‘I’m really happy with his attitude and commitment,’ said Pochettino recently about Sanchez’s form.

‘He is going to be great. He only arrived at the last moment, the other keeper went to Madrid, he played in two or three training sessions and then straight in.’

According to Fabrizio Romano, however, Chelsea are yet to seriously consider the prospect of adding Ramsdale to their goalkeeping ranks ahead of the January transfer window.
