Governor Namadi reacts to the death of ex-minister, Maitama Yusuf

The Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, has extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the late Alhaji Bello Maitama (Sardaunan Dutse), who passed away Friday morning.

This was contained in a statement issued to DAILY POST by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel.

He described Alhaji Bello Maitama as a respected figure who left an indelible mark on the lives of many through his dedicated service and firm commitment to the betterment of Jigawa State and the country.

“His passing represents a significant loss not only to his family but also to Jigawa State and Nigeria,” the statement said.

Governor Namadi acknowledged Alhaji Bello Maitama’s contributions to the development of this country and the lasting impact he has made through his philanthropy, community leadership, and numerous initiatives aimed at improving the lives of our citizens.

DAILY POST reports that Maitama,who served as minister of interior, died at age 76 after a brief illness.

He was buried in accordance with Islamic teachings on Friday evening in Kano.
