Nasarawa State, Goveror Abdullahi Sule, on Thursday, performed the foundation stone laying of the Ganfeng Lithium Mining Company Factory Project at Endo Village in Udege Development Area, Nasarawa LGA of Nasarawa State.
The investment commitment, which was to the tune of 250 million US dollars, is expected to produce about 18,000 metric tonnes of lithium per day.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Sule expressed his happiness at the realisation of a long term dream.
He said the Ganfeng Lithium Mining Company is expected to create employment opportunities for the region and the state at large.
“Today, I am a happy man because I am satisfied and fulfilled.
“God has given me the opportunity to see the realisation of my dream, so that instead of having illegal miners who are mining our products and taking them completely out of Nasarawa to somewhere else, we are now having a huge industry which is going to be processing 18,000 tonnes of Lithium everyday,” the governor said.
Present at the event were the Minister of Mines and Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, Emir of Nasarawa, Ibrahim Usman Jibrin and Managing Director of Sinoma Nigeria, Mr. Qiao Qiufeng.
