Football fans watching Sky Sports’ coverage of Arsenal vs Manchester City this afternoon will notice a new camera angle used to broadcast the game.
The angle will only be used on Sky Sports Football, however, with viewers tuning into Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League getting the normal viewing experience.
So, why exactly will a different camera angle be in operation during the top-of-the-table clash at the Emirates?
Here is everything you need to know.
Why is there a new camera angle for Arsenal vs Man City on Sky Sports?

The camera angle, which is called ‘Game Mode’, will follow the action from side to side and will likely draw comparisons to angles used in the FIFA football game (now known as EA Sports FC 24).
The angle should give fans watching on TV a greater appreciation of space and more visibility into running lines and ball movements.
This will be the first game in which Sky has used a ‘railcam’ to film the action at a football stadium, which will be positioned at the same height as the gantry and will run down the length of the pitch.
Premier League head of media operations and innovation, Rachael Nightingale, said: ‘The Premier League is always looking for ways to enhance the broadcast experience for fans around the world.
‘During this period of testing with Sky Sports and Arsenal, we hope ‘Game Mode’ will provide a new and exciting way to enjoy the action at home.’
Sky Sports director Phil Marshall added: ‘We’re very excited to see what ‘Game Mode’ can bring to the overall viewing experience for fans and believe it has great potential when it comes to in-game innovation.
‘We thank Arsenal and the Premier League for their support in testing this innovation.’

Arsenal’s Women’s Super League clash against Liverpool on October 1 was used to trial the new angle and, if is successful, it could be rolled out for future Premier League games at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta’s side headed into the clash a point behind the reigning champions, who pipped the Gunners to the Premier League title last year following a season-long title race.
The two teams met in the Community Shield at Wembley back in August, with Arsenal emerging victorious on penalties following a 1-1 draw after normal time.
