Wearing just his pyjamas, a young boy’s dust-covered body is dragged across the rubble that is left of his home.
Helpless, his father can only watch as 10-year-old Tymofii’s lifeless body is covered in a blanket by workers.
The child had been pulled from the wreckage of a residential building that had been brutally razed to the ground by a Russian missile strike.
The ruthless attack on the village of Hroza killed at least 52 people, including another child, who was just six.
Writing about Tymofii on Telegram, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said: ‘The child was found under the rubble of a residential building. Unfortunately dead. Condolences to the parents and relatives.’
Tymofii’s father, Oleh Bychko, was pictured standing next to the wreckage, and later was seen being treated by paramedics with blood running down the side of his face.
Images show vehicles and buildings completely destroyed by the attack which hit busy shops and cafes, with wounded people being treated at the scene.
‘Rescuers continue to work on the spot. As of now, the bodies of 48 dead people, including a six-year-old boy, have been recovered from the rubble,’ Kharkiv governor Oleh Syniehubov wrote on Telegram.

‘Six people, including one child, were injured. Doctors are providing them with the necessary assistance.’
Three days of mourning was announced in the Kharkiv region after the deadliest attack in the region since Russia’s invasion more than 19 months ago.
It was also one of the biggest civilian death tolls in any single Russian strike.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the missile strike, a U.N. spokesperson said on Thursday, noting that ‘attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure are prohibited under international humanitarian law’.
On Friday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights deployed a field team to investigate the attack, an OHCHR spokesperson said in Geneva.
Moscow denies deliberately targeting civilians, but many have been killed in attacks that have hit residential areas as well as energy, defence, port, grain and other facilities.
