Manchester United legend Paul Scholes paid the ultimate compliment to Rasmus Hojlund following his brace against Galatasaray in the Champions League by comparing the Dane to Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Hojlund scored two fantastic goals and had another ruled out for offside as United’s sorry season continued on Tuesday night.
The Dane was the bright light as United twice threw away the lead against the Turks, with Casemiro being sent off in the closing stages of the game.
The 20-year-old headed in from close-range to put United ahead in the first half, and he got his second when he burst through the Turkish defence and clipped a finish over the goalkeeper.
Hojlund apologised to supporters in the Stretford End after the defeat but he had nothing to apologise for given his brilliant performance.

‘You’re normally really disappointed, [to lose your first Champions League home match at home]’ said Scholes.
‘[But] I think I saw enough tonight in a team that excited me. Hojlund, especially them two goals.
‘He took the two goals brilliantly. I absolutely loved the second goal, he gave the centre-half no chance, clean pair of heels and his finish – a composed finish. We also had a goal that got disallowed.
‘And I thought, ‘Wow there’s a bit of Van Nistelrooy in there.”
