Kano State Commissioner issues threat to tribunal judges

Kano State Commissioner for Lands, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, has issued a death threat to judges hearing the governorship election petition in the state.

The Commissioner who is a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in the state asked the judges ro choose between their lives and the risk of being used to collect bribe money

Aliyu’ issued the highly controversial threat while speaking at a solidarity protest organized by the ruling New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), shortly after a special prayer was held by them in the state on Thursday.

His exact words,: ” I am sending this message to the judges Amy judge that allows himself to be used and collect bribes and pass judgment that is not right, we want to tell him that he must choose between his life and the bribe money .

A video of the commissioners toxic remarks has snce gone viral on the social media,

“We are promising you our supporters, we are receiving your complaints, the votes you cast on His Excellency will not go in vain. Unless we lose one lives or Kano State will fall” he stated in Hausa language.

“You have seen the conflict (banditry) in Zamfara, Kaduna, and Katsina. ….The conflict that will start in Kano will be more deadly than the ones in those states and Borno.”

There has been a growing anxiety in the state ahead of the much expected outcome of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in the state .

At various times in the recent times. the members of the New Nigeria People Party had organised prayer sessions to pray for a favourable judgment from the tribunal.
