The Ogun State Government has confirmed that it has recruited no fewer than 321 health personnel.
The medical personnel were those hired by the Ogun State Hospitals Management Board (HBM) in the previous two years to bolster the current medical staff.
The permanent secretary of the board, Dr Yinka Elemide, disclosed this in a statement signed by the HBM Information Officer, Femi Osipitan.
According to the statement made available to DAILY POST in Abeokuta, Elemide said 174 of the personnel are in the senior staff cadre, while the remaining 147 are in the junior cadre.
The permanent secretary explained that such health officers had stayed in the service for more than two years, with four progress evaluations showing they had no adverse reports.
He advised them to remain dedicated to giving quality healthcare to residents of Ogun State in their respective stations so as to complement the efforts of the government in ridding Ogun of diseases.
Reacting to the confirmation exercise on behalf of their colleagues, Dr Adegeye Eweje and Dr Omowunmi Moibi appreciated the government for finding their services worthy and employing them to contribute to the health needs of Ogun State.
Similarly, a registered nurse, Mrs Ayomikun Egbetayo, commended the Abiodun administration for a stress-free exercise, urging that the “confirmation of our appointment would motivate us to do more in caring for patients.”
