This is the disturbing moment North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Russia for his meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Authorities rolled out the red carpet for the politician and ally to the Kremlin as he disembarked his bulletproof armoured train in the city of Vladivostock, in Russia’s Far East.

Footage showed flustered aides on both sides running around as Kim stepped on the red carpet, instantly being greeted by Russian officials.

But the Russian president was nowhere to be seen, instead sending a minister to greet the North Korean leader.

Russian state TV later reported that the natural resources minister met with Kim instead on arrival.

He is due to hold talks with his Russian counterpart later today.
