Court Suspends Gamji-led Executives Of Nasarawa Traders, Marketers

The Nasarawa State High Court sitting in Lafia has suspended the Alhaji Turaki Gamji-led state executives of Nasarawa State Marketers and Traders Association.

The court gave the order following an ex-parte application filed by the chairman of the Keffi Branch of the Association pending the hearing of the motion on notice.

Recall that the Association had long been bedevilled by crises arising from attempts by Turaki Gamji-led executives to disenfranchise some members of the Keffi Branch of the Association from participating in its planned local government area elections.

The court also stopped the Association from proceeding with any election exercise in all its branches in 13 LGAs of the state pending the final determination of the suit.

The Court’s decision was welcomed by many of the Association’s members who viewed it as a great relief from the Turaki Gamji’s tyrannical administration.
