Ukraine ‘loses first Challenger 2 tank’ as Russia flaunts video of weapon ‘like a sniper rifle’ in flames

Britain has donated 28 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine in the last six months

Russia has flaunted today what it claims to be evidence of the first destroyed British Challenger 2 tank in Ukraine

Footage filmed from the inside of a vehicle with a cracked windscreen showed the burning wreck of the battle vehicle – one of the most protected in the world.

It is thought the video was captured outside the recently-liberated settlement of Robotyne, in the southern Zaporizhzhia region.

Black smoke is seen pouring from the charred tank, one of 28 donated by the UK to Ukraine in the war against Russia.
