National chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr Sylvester Ezeokenwa, has said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 general election, Mr Peter Obi, can only emerge president of Nigeria under the APGA platform.
He also said the former Anambra State governor would eventually return to the APGA from the LP where he (Peter Obi) is currently.
Peter Obi was governor of Anambra State for eight years under the APGA platform.
He is currently before the presidential election petition tribunal, PEPT, sitting in Abuja where he is challenging the declaration of the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s as winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election, and, insisting rather that he is the actual winner of the poll, and, should therefore be so declared.
But the APGA national chairman insisted in an interview with newsmen in Awka yesterday that Peter received his sterling political leadership training under the APGA platform, and, therefore he could only carry it to the national level to occupy the nation’s highest political office under the APGA platform.
“Peter Obi is going to come back to APGA and that is his home and that is the only vehicle that will take him to his destination.
“He attended the APGA institute of good governance of which I am a student now and I tell you he would return to the party,” Ezeokenwa stated.
He also stated that he would visit the pioneer national chairman of APGA, Chief Chekwas Okorie to lure him back to the APGA fold.
Ezeokenwa stated that he had already spoken to Chief Okorie and emphasised to him why he should return to APGA.
