ARSENAL have confirmed Jurrien Timber is set to miss the entire season.
The club revealed he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee.

Timber suffered the injury during his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday when he made a yellow card challenge on Brennan Johnson in first-half stoppage time.
Although he received extensive treatment on the pitch, he was passed fit to continue until his knee gave way just a couple of minutes after the half-time interval.
Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners, but the loss of Timber will be a massive blow to the rest of their season.
A club statement said: “Further to detailed assessments with consultant specialists since Saturday, we can confirm that Jurrien Timber has sustained an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.”
They added their new £40million signing will undergo surgery in the coming days.
Taking to his Instagram page, Timber said he was “gutted” about his injury.
He wrote: “Gutted to share my injury is more serious than expected, especially after the warm welcome I’ve received.
“I wanted to repay you on the pitch, which will not be possible for the forthcoming period.

“I’m blessed with a lot of great people around me, together we will do anything to get back as soon and strong as possible .
“For now I’ll be supporting our team from the stands of course.

Manager Mikel Arteta was already had to write off star striker Gabriel Jesus after he underwent a clean-up operation on his knee two weeks ago.
Timber’s long-term injury could means Arsenal could step up their pursuit of a new left-back.
Now Arteta must decide whether to gamble on Oleksandr Zinchenko for Monday’s London derby away to Crystal Palace.
The Ukrainian international has been sidelined by a persistent calf strain since May and did not participate in any of the club’s pre-season programme.
He has returned to full training this week but Arsenal will not take any risks on his fitness and have Takehiro Tomiyasu on stand-by to start at left-back if required.
