PALACE goalkeeper Vincente Guaita has hit back at manager Roy Hodgson on Twitter after being left out of Palace’s squad to face Sheffield United.
The goalkeeper hit back at reports that he had refused to be a part of the squad on Twitter by replying to the club’s starting XI and writing: “Where is my name? So how can I play for Palace? @CPFC.”

The war of words comes after Roy Hodgson said Guaita was “disenchanted” with life at Palace after losing his no.1 spot to Sam Johnstone.
Hodgson said: “He’s been refusing to play in our games so far but the complication is that he has a year’s contract so it’s up to the club to decide really. Not him.”
Guaita has made 150 appearances for Palace and signed a one year contract extension in January under former manager Patrick Vieira.
But Hodgson has not favoured the Spaniard since taking over in March, leading to speculation he would leave the club this summer.
Hodgson said he is looking for a quick resolution to the situation and said: “It’s up to the club now,”
“The fact is that any player can do that, it’s not difficult and I’m certain that there are many clubs around the world with players who would rather leave than stay”
“‘I can’t physically make Guaita play, but at the same time it’s not certain that his refusal to play means they’ll have to let him go.”
Palace opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Premier League new-boys Sheffield United.

The clean sheet will no doubt further justify Hodgson’s decision to drop Guaita in favour of Johnstone.
Palace opened the scoring in the 49th minute and remained solid defensively to hold on for a win.
The game was not without incident for Hodgson, who clashed with Sheffield United player Max Lowe in the second half.
The two clashed after Hodgson tried to prevent Lowe from picking up the ball when it went out for a throw.
