Horse racing tips: This Classic winner looks a massive price in a Jacques Le Marois blockbuster in France on Sunday

THERE’S a lack of Group 1 racing in Britain this weekend but France has us covered with a blockbuster clash.

The Group 1 Prix Jacques Le Marois is run at Deauville over the mile and has attracted some of Europe’s best horses.

John Gosden has a remarkable recent record in the race

British and Irish horses have an excellent record in the race, winning seven of the last ten runnings.

John Gosden has been the man to follow, however, as he and Frankie Dettori have teamed up to win the last three.

Inspiral is quickly turned back out after a heavy defeat at Glorious Goodwood, something that’s rare for the yard to do.

She’ll have Dettori on top and her best form gives her an excellent chance, but it’s hard to trust that she’ll bring her a-game.

The home charge is led by the Chris Head-trained Big Rock, who only found one too strong in the French Derby when last seen.

He’ll try to make all the running and given his extra stamina, if they let him do his own thing, he’ll be tough to catch.

He’s almost certain to face pace pressure from the unexposed Triple Time, who caused a 33-1 shock in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot when fending off Inspiral.

He could have more to offer and commands respect, but this may set up for a closer with the Group 1 bridesmaid Light Infantry also likely to force a strong gallop.

It’s worth taking a chance on French 2,000 Guineas winner MARHABA YA SANAFI, who hated the ground and had a poor trip in the French Derby.

He still closed well late on to finish third and should get much closer to Big Rock on this slower ground.

At 12-1, he looks a massive price for a horse who’s consistent and already a Classic winner.

Of the other fancied runners, Erevann won a Group 2 last season and was close up behind Light Infantry in his most recent start.

He’s likely to be popular alongside Good Guess, who’s stamina is far from guaranteed now he steps up from 7f.
