According to Nizaar Kinsella, Madrid are considering a loan-to-buy option for the Spanish shot-stopper.
The interest comes following the news that Los Blancos’ No1, Thibaut Courtois, has sustained an ACL injury that will see him undergo surgery in the coming days.
While Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Bayern Munich have submitted a one-year loan proposal for Kepa with an option to buy.
They too have been forced into a deal with the 28-year-old with their first choice keeper, Manuel Neuer, still nursing an injury he picked up last season.
Despite two European heavyweights battling it out for Kepa’s signature, Chelsea fans can’t seem to understand why.
Fans of the West London club took to social media to express their bemusement at a possible transfer.
One fan seemed shocked, writing: “Bayern and Madrid fighting for kepa ”
Whilst another simply added: “No way.”

Some fans tried to understand why Bayern and Madrid were so interested in Kepa, with one posting: “What are they seeing in Kepa that we don’t know?”
And another adding: “How ironic that every club wants our players but we don’t want or value them.”
A third posted: “Kepa has an incredible agent”
Other fans jumped to the defence of their goalkeeper and backed him to do big things if he leaves.
One wrote: “Kepa should push for this move. He will be Real Madrid number 1 in years”
Chelsea have already seen a lot of movement in between the sticks this season with both incomings and outgoings.
Eduard Mendy swapped Stamford Bridge for Saudi Arabia in a move to Al Ahli and was replaced by Brighton keeper Robert Sanchez.
Sanchez joined the Blues in a £25million deal from the South Coast club on a seven-year deal.
