Gospel music star, John Kola Idowu, is set to release a new album that converts the 150 psalms in the Bible into hymns in different languages.
According to Idowu, the hymns come in 12 albums and will be launched in the United States of America on August 6, 2023.
Known as ‘Songs of Psalms in Tongues of All Nations’, Idowu said the production of the 12 albums took him to different countries and involved cast drawn from various Christian denominations.
He said further that he worked with different producers to make the work a reality, at an estimated cost of about N100 million.
“What I have done is different from what any other gospel artiste has done, because it is like singing the Bible and this is also different because it is not my lyrics, but the Bible,” he explained.
Idowu added: “There were, however, challenges in creating the melody for each of the songs, adapting them from the language of the King James version of the Bible.”
The essence of the albums, Idowu stated, is to assist people in their spiritual meditation, and also to bring people closer to God.
