CHELSEA could look unrecognisable in the first game of the season against Liverpool.

That’s with Kylian Mbappe potentially leading a host of star transfers to Stamford Bridge next month.

Chelsea are hoping to make amends for last season’s dismal efforts under Todd Boehly.

And Mauricio Pochettino has been tasked with guiding the Blues back to the Champions League, while also adding a trophy or two on the way.

Chelsea already have several transfer signings from their January endeavours ready to start anew.

The likes of Mykhailo Mudryk failed to live up to billing and will feel like new arrivals.

But the Blues have already been busy in the market this summer, acquiring impressive additions like Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

However, with a month of the transfer window still to go, Chelsea could add even more new faces to look almost unrecognisable on the first day of the season.

And leading the charge could be Paris Saint-Germain star Mbappe, who looks set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.

He has already turned down an eye-watering £700million offer to play in Saudi Arabia.

How Chelsea could look next term

And Liverpool are now looking to land Mbappe on a season-long loan deal.

But reports claim Chelsea are now being encouraged to bid, with Boehly holding positive talks with PSG’s Qatari owners.

Meanwhile, there is set to be fresh blood in defence, with Chelsea striking a deal to sign Monaco captain Axel Disasi following Wesley Fofana’s latest ACL injury.

The Blues also remain hopeful of finally prising midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

And they are set to hold talks with the Seagulls over a move for goalie Robert Sanchez too.

There will be plenty of other news faces on the bench for Chelsea, including Andrey Santos and Malo Gusto.

Academy aces like Ian Maatsen and Levi Colwill are also hoping to make their mark.

But there could be more departures too, with Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah tipped for exits.
