Shocking five-figure calorie amount Brits consume on holidays revealed

BRITS scoff an average of 50,000 calories on a week-long all-inclusive holiday, research claims.

That is around three times their recommended weekly intake.

In fact, we guzzle our daily calorie intake in booze alone — with an average of 2,240 calories of alcohol consumed each day of an all-inclusive.

Women’s ideal calorie intake is 2,000 a day, while for men it is 2,500.

The typical Brit has five drinks even before they arrive at their destination — two at the airport, three on the plane — researchers say.

But low-calorie booze brand DrinkWell found three in ten say they do not care about the calories consumed on holiday.

DrinkWell founder Tom Bell said: “It’s no secret that Brits love a drink, but there are plenty of fewer-calorie alcoholic drinks available.”
