MANCHESTER UNITED youngster Charlie Savage is closing in on a move to Reading.
The League One side have agreed a fee with the Red Devils to sign the midfielder, who is the son of former Blackburn and Wales star Robbie.

Savage, 20, left United on loan last season and made 15 appearances for Forest Green.
But he is now set for a permanent move to Reading, who have permission to speak to his representatives.
Savage will need to agree personal terms and complete a medical before he officially becomes a Royal.
Several other clubs were reported to be interested in Savage including Championship sides Cardiff and Rotherham.
Portsmouth were also said to be considering a bid but appear to have lost out to Reading.
Savage joined United’s academy as a youngster before rising through the ranks to sign his first professional contract in April 2021.
He made his first-team debut eight months later against Young Boys – a game which Robbie commentated on.
Robbie Snr teared up when he spoke about his son after the match, saying: “I’m starting to tear up Jake because what the boy has achieved… Charlie Savage has achieved so much in his young life.

“He’s never been top of the group, he’s always had to meet targets.
“Every two years when he was on the borderline of being let go, his application, his work ethic, his desire, he’s humble. That has got him to where he’s got.
“As a father, when I’m standing on the sidelines, people automatically think Charlie is going to be like his dad but he’s not like me, he’s his own player.
“At times it’s been harder so what he’s achieved in his young life, I’m absolutely delighted. It’s amazing what the boy’s achieved.”
Savage found first-team opportunities difficult to come by under Erik ten Hag but he did captain a youthful-looking side in the second half of the recent pre-season win over Leeds.
United have allowed several promising young players to leave this summer including Zidane Iqbal.
Anthony Elanga was also heading for a exit before he rejected the chance to join Everton.
