As for the outright betting, England have been leapfrogged by Spain this week, and now find themselves THIRD in the betting to go all the way at 19/4 – behind USA (5/2) and Spain (9/2).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are very much expecting Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses to build on last year’s Euros success, and it could come at a hefty cost for bookies if Millie Bright and co bring football home.”

Head coach Sarina Wiegman has certainly given punters confidence in their selections.

England have never reached a World Cup final but Wiegman has with the Netherlands in 2019, and isn’t talking down her side’s chances.

She said: “You never know. We came here with a dream and that’s what we go for. England has done well in former tournaments and yes, we want to win every game.

“You can be very excited, I think we’re in a good place. Everyone is getting to the next level again. The team is very excited, and we’ll be absolutely ready to go.”
