The Reds are favourites at odds-on 8/15 as Jurgen Klopp continues to rebuild his midfield ranks ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Liverpool said farewell to Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner this summer, while the futures of veteran captain Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are in doubt.

The Liverpool captain could double £200,000 weekly wages with a move to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, and he’s seriously considering a two-year deal in the Middle East.

The Reds have already landed Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister but a physical holding midfielder is on Klopp’s wish-list and Lavia fits the bill.

Southampton are looking to generate £100million in player sales this summer with James Ward-Prowse and Lavia valued at £40m and £50m respectively.

Football Insider claim that Liverpool believe Lavia wants to join, but are only prepared to pay around £40m.

Haggling over a fee could open the door to their top-flight rivals with Arsenal next in the betting market at 11/4.

The Gunners have already strengthened their midfield this summer by signing Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, whose arrival is imminent.

90min claim that preliminary talks have taken place between the two parties, but there’s been no official offer.

Chelsea watched Lavia on several occasions last season, and are 5/1 to clinch his services before the transfer window closes in September.

Newcastle and Manchester United are offered at 17/2 and 14/1 respectively, ahead of West Ham at 16/1.
